Mobile 2.0 Envisioned

Mobile Devices vs. a true mobile device? Most of lug around multiple mobile devices in the hope of achieving true mobility and to remain connected.

Enthusiastic pundits have always raved about “… a world where seamless, device-independent communications and entertainment services will enable people to access content and information when they want it, on any device and by whatever method they choose.” A world that is always connected, always on and truly global, without technological, geographical or regulatory boundaries.

The rise of Web 2.0 seems to ignite a paradigm shift and in its wake, the rise of New Media and Mobile 2.0 provide rich promises of a fully user-driven world of ubiquitous communication.

These waves bring forth infinite possibilities: possibilities that solve problems and maybe create new ones. Or, simpler solutions that evoke complex questions. Is this a promise or a premonition? Will we rise to embrace these milestones of progress? Or, will we frantically search for the ‘Off’ switch in an increasingly intrusive flat world?

As globalization brings geographies closer through newer, powerful means, as it obliterates diversities but provides newer means and services for preservation, our constantly evolving global village will always need the alert observer, reporting in earnestness employing newer mediums and forms of expression. An observer, who invites and welcomes your interaction and participation towards our common objective.

In the coming days, I will be reviewing the new technologies and innovative startups in the mobility space.

Together we will fly into this unknown.
