India wakes up - 3G Plan and WiMAX planned

Finally, the Indian government is warming up to the next generation mobile services. It has announced plans to auction off 3G and WiMAX spectrum to the highest bidders which will enable upto six wireless carriers to offer competitive services in India. Given its landline infrastructure, India may get a shot in the arm with the WiMAX broadband connectivity. (read full story at: gigaom.com)
