StartupNewz.com was born as I could not find a single place to find all the news of startup community which was free of editorial bias. I was already Blogging and Podcasting at http://HotFromSiliconValley.com, and thought consolidated wisdom of the crowds can be used to spot Hot Startups and Hot Startup News.
After getting inspired by other social networking and community powered sites, Startup News site (StartupNewz.com) was born, a site and community which is truly democratic and free of editorial bias.

Well Y-Combinator’s Startup News (now Hacker News) will be the closest thing to being our competition, I guess.
I admire Digg and have great respect for Kevin. Sites like http://fark.com, and then http://digg.com
been using voting concept successfully for quite a while. Kevin at digg.com adopted voting concept in a refreshing new way and took it mainstream.
