Rebtel - Startup providing Cheap international mobile calls
You give Rebtel the phone number of a friend in another country, and they give you a local number for them. Save this number on your mobile phone so you can call your friend whenever you want, for a fraction of your normal international rate. Unlike Skype, Rebtel does not require you to download any software, and you don't need a PC to make cheap calls. (read full story at: rebtel.com)

How do they give you the local number? Do they SMS it to you? Do you need a web enabled device to use Rebtel or you can use any phone?
Hi ipod,
We'll SMS the local number to you (yeah, I work at Rebtel). You use the same local number every time you call your friend. You can get started just by sending an SMS to +44 77 9780 0900 with the name and number of your friend e.g. “John +442076297522” and you’re on your way. You’ll get an SMS back with the local number to John.
You do not need a web enabled phone to be able to call. In fact you can use any phone and there's nothing to download. If you have a web enabled device you can reach your Rebtel account via wap.rebtel.com and add friends there.
You can also get started and add friends by calling us on a local number. Check the number closest to you at http://www.rebtel.com/en/How-it-works/Product-promotion/Call-us/
Only you have to be signed up with Rebtel. Your friend only needs to pick up the phone when you call. We'll charge you a minute fee (we're trying to keep the lowest rates). You get 10 minutes free when signing up, 10 more when charging the accounte and 5 more for eache friend you add.
